FAQ

1. What is an ACL tear?

An ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear is a common knee injury, often caused by sudden stops, twisting, or direct impact. It’s especially common in athletes.

  • A loud “pop” at the time of injury

  • Knee instability or giving out

  • Swelling within hours

  • Pain and limited range of motion

Surgery is often recommended if:

  • You’re young and active

  • Your knee feels unstable

  • There’s damage to other knee structures (like meniscus or cartilage)

  • Non-surgical treatment (like physical therapy) didn’t help
